Background of of W-GUNDAM Zero Custom: W-Gundam Zero has made appearance in an OVA series New Mobile Report Gundam W: Endless Waltz. In the warfare against the OZ, 5 scientists decided to create a mobile suit which could truly overpower the OZ’s forces. Wing Gundam Zero, codename XXXG-00W0, was created as result. It was an extremely maneuverable mobile suit which sported Gatling-like machine cannons, beam sabers, and an powerful twin buster rifle that was capable of wiping out an entire group of mobile suits in a single shot. The mobile suit featured a unique “Zero System” in cockpit, which allowed pilot’s mind to interface directly with the Gundam’s combat computer. The system operated by sampling the pilot’s thoughts and combining them with current combat data, then it presented the pilot with various alternate outcomes. Depending on the pilot’s mood, the Zero System could tell him/her how to achieve total victory or decisive defeat. However, the mental stress that the system placed on the pilot mind was too great for ordinary human to handle. Only a few selected pilot was able to handle it. Former OZ pilot Zechs Merquise and Gundam pilot Heero Yuy were the only 2 humans known to truly master the Zero System by making use of its advantage while preventing it from driving them mad.
