Background of RX-93-V2 Hi Nu Gundam: Hi-V Gundam, RX-93-V-2, it was considered to be the most legendary mobile suit in the universal century. There were several factors to say so. First, this MS only appeared in the novel “Char’s counterattack”, not the movie version released on 12th March 1988. Second, it was the last mobile suit for Amuro Ray, the most respectable MS pilot while he was the most famous newtype in the universal century. Finally, this mobile suit was the most well-balanced and powerful Gundam in the first part of Gundam’ era (UC0079-0093). After the defeat Hamma Kar (the uprising of First Neo Zion in UC0088), during early 0090s, Char Aznable's had secretly organized another Neo Zion in an old space colony named “Sweet Water”. In order to and track down such illegal activities, Earth Federation formed a special task force “Londo Bell” to investigate the movement of which. After numerous contacts with Neo Zion, Amuro Ray realized the importance of developing an outstanding MS for Londo Bell to stop Char. Therefore, several new R&D projects were assigned to Anaheim Electronics, and that included Hi-V Gundam. Generally, Hi –V Gundam was developed under the data of V-Gundam, RX-93-V. Both of them were equipped with the latest piece of psychic communication technology called the "psycoframe”. By applying this chip, that allowed V-Gundam to reduce its weight and had the ability to estimate the enemy‘s movement and thought. Except of the inner portion, the armaments of both V-Gundam were pretty similar. The major difference was the fin-funnel of H-V Gundam was equipped with a funnel board at the backpack for the purpose of recollected and recharged the fin-funnel while V –Gundam cannot. That meant it can be used over and over again. Unlike V-Gundam, Hi-V was seriously tested in all ways before she was launched to the battlefield. In other words, that meant it performed even better than the original V-Gundam. Unfortunately, there was a fatal drawback for the “psycoframe” system. According to the engineer of Anaheim Electronics, if this system was overloaded, it had a possibility to create some unknown and unexplainable phenomenon. It was proved right while Amuro Ray tried to use his Hi –V to stop the fall of asteroid base Axis to Earth. During that moment, all of the MSs on the battlefield joined Hi-V and wanted to stop that ultimate disaster. Because of such highly concentration from many people, or minds, the psycoframe was overloaded, resulting to the destruction of Hi-V….and the asteroid base Axis was pushed away from Earth by such ultimate psychic power.
